First Azure Nights Melbourne User Group & how to start with Blockchains

Last night we had our first Azure Nights meetup in Melbourne.
It was a great turnout with over 30 people attending. Not bad given that we only created the group a few weeks ago and announced the actual meetup 2 weeks prior to today.
Or the topic of the evening was Blockchains which Lucas Cullen delivered perfectly.

After the main breakout session, we had great conversations over some pizzas and beers and finished the evening with a short excursion to the Belgian Beer Café.
You can download our Slides of the evening, which include the User Group News and announcements, here.
Lucas’s slides will follow soon and I’ll update the post once I got hold of it.

Also, some of our members asked for a quick guide on how to get started.
I thought I write up some of the links that I found useful when I resourced Blockchains.
Microsoft Virtual Academy has a very comprehensive course on BaaS:

Pluralsight currently offers 2 courses:

Lucas Cullen (our speaker) blogs at various sites, here a few of them.

David (our local technical evangelist in Melbourne) blogs about Blockchains (and other technologies) under:

I also came across Jamie Skella articles on Blockchain. I found his “how to explain blockchain to your mum” very useful.

That’s it for this month.
I’m already looking forward to next month User Group.
Join the Groups to make sure you don’t miss out on the announcement.
